Rumor control

In the tattooing business you do hear and see just about anything, and people do make up things out there about you or attribute to you.

Years ago someone came in and was surprised to see me, because a rumor was going around in Madison that I OD-ed. Not sure on what, but it was a case of mistaken identity. Some tattoo artist in South Side did, not me.

Then there was the time when this guy came in to show off his buddy's work, this "buddy" was supposed to work in the shop and the curious thing was that the real one was standing in front of him and he had no clue. People out there are using your name and reputation.

Once a customer came in and talked about some tattoo artist snorting drugs, and made a huge deal about it. We happen to know this artist and it was him blowing his nose in the back room and that was all it was based on.

Rumor is just that, it based on thin air but full of motives or imagination. It is designed for someone to gain or to divide or to hurt, and people do believe anything if they want to.

So to stop some rumor out there:

No, we do not trash talk, we focus on what we do and try to do it better.

No, I am not going into politics.

No, Waukesha Tattoo Company is just closed for remodeling and we will be open again in May.

No, our mascot is safe and sound in the secret location.

No, we did not put anything in the donuts/tattoo to make it addictive. It is just love.

No, I only OD on sushi.
