Wife and I walked to Rochester's Deli for soup and sandwich, and the place was packed as usual with some familiar faces. I also could not resist their addictive pecan bar. Freeman's Friday Night Live was going on, lots of police presence.
I do not know how it went for the other merchants, my last customers parked all the way on the other side of roadblock and walked down to us.
Any report from anyone else? By the way, one comment and one reply was removed by request. I am back to moderating the comments. Keep it civil, please; we are all in this together.
Thumbs down from Huck.
Retail is a critical driver for a healthy downtown and now days the retail economy is under huge pressure. Why not come up with ways to get people downtown during the day when they will actually spend their money shopping?
ReplyDeleteIts hard to get people downtown during the day unless they work near downtown. We need more office-type development down there. There is the state building but I have heard they only give 30 minute lunches which is barely enough time to walk over to a restaurant and get a carryout order.
