Losing faith with Jackie Chan

I saw a new Jackie Chan dvd in the Redbox last night. Out of curiosity, I spent my buck and picked it up.

I knew I was in trouble when I did not recognize the film company, even more when the film is presented in camcorder type quality.

The story is pretty much an acted out public service announcement with Jackie Chan to promote certain social value for the Chinese government to young kids:

Stay in school, learn your Chinese and history, respect the elders.

I want my dollar back!

p.s. I am sure most cops will have giant posters of themselves in heroic poses hanging in their apartment... I guess they do in China.

Long awaited opening

Bodway's Live Music Grill will have its soft opening during Art Crawl.

I can't say welcome to the neighborhood because they were at West End before we were... :)

Slowly but surely, the beautiful West End is becoming quite a destination.

Here is another close call coming!

Huck needs to call it off! Someone go get that magnet out of his backyard!

Bad Santa idea

I bounced my idea to one local bar owner, I think it might work.

The idea is to have this underground promotion go on during Silver Bell. We would ask people to go into participated bar, restaurant or us, buy something, steal a coaster, but ask discretely to have it stamped. With certain amount of stamps from each establishments, the coaster can be then turned in for a raffle for one big grand prize package donated by all the establishments.

Any feedback?

I did not know that....

We are in the running for the best of tattoo shops in Milwaukee by Shepherd Express... and the voting ends TOMORROW! Ha ha, we are a little slow.

Catchy tune

Dave sings.

Just in case you missed it

Here is a nuke option if Waukesha gets a thumbs down for Lake Michigan Water...

Mayor Scrima can tell Kim Jong Il and Mahmound Ahmadinejad to eat their hearts out!

Just make sure we do not hire Homer!

Bad Santa

Here are some images I've found for the possible Bad Santa advertising... ;)

City Hall Gallery

Mayor Scrima will give tours of the newly painted City Hall Gallery!

The new paint job is pretty nice. The ceiling tiles have to go next! However, there are some nasty stuff above those tiles as I was told.

No Wiggy for Diva Day!

Sadly I have to report that I failed to land the biggest local blogger celebrity I know to do the Diva Day with us. I wish I know Huck personally, but he is advertised as a recluse. I don't want to disturb Brien during to his recent gaining of an angel. I wonder if Ronsta or Sonia will be around for 10.10.10... I do not know Eat or Rusty or Scott personally neither...hmmm, is Otto gonna be around?

No words from Mayor Scrima, but I suppose he does not read this blog! :)

Silver Bell

I attended the first Silver Bell info meeting. We were not in business last year so I have no clue what is going on.

Since Moxie will be a part of it as well, I think we can get the carriage ride extended all the way by us and Moxie. However, since we are not really a kid oriented business, perhaps we need a counter advertising campaign like a special for "Bad Santa". I guess it depends on who signed up and what discount/special they can offer, we will blast it on social media channels instead of traditional media. It will be an underground thing, so stay tuned! We will play nice and then be a little naughty too when people are not looking! ;)

I know we will have some Nov/ Dec special coming, but I can't say yet... keep up with twitter and Facebook fan page!

Oh, there will be a 8x10 photo prints giveaway this weekend at the new Husband vs. Wife Opening, there will be handouts to be turned in for raffle during Art Crawl, you can not beat FREE (FREE for fALL)! I've just found this out from the artists!

School is in Session....Inspired ?
Yes, but between 8-10am, 2-4pm, & after 7pm!

School Starts. Everything Changes. I thought once I graduated from high-school I could make my own schedule- or change it, destroy it, move it to another country, or leave it at any time. Even in college you have great flexibility.
Little did I realize that my baby would become a child and therefore, by state and federal law, must attend school- which puts me on a schedule.
Im already up at 530am because of my other baby (who is still a baby) so the mornings are not the problem, or the nap times, or meals, or organizing 3 peoples days.
It's the too and from- the accelerating into hyper drive once everyone is in the proper
place (school/crib/work) and then the screeching to a halt in the middle of projects to attend and maintain everyone else's lives, that is taking getting used to.
I think my work is showing it. There is a hint of anxiety, collisions of colors and ideas, a sprinkle of crazy, & a dash of nuts. On these predetermined drives to and from school I have snippets of time to get perspective on a painting....over and over.....and over. So my direction may change on a given project which gives them depth, a chance to morph and evolve- need it or not.
Or, if the idea was great enough to withstand the 'coo-coo clock of life' then it's a mighty fine one & will be realized!
The past few months some very interesting things have happened and this falls commissions and shows will gushing with exuberant and exhausting inspiration.
I hope to enjoy the ride!

Favorite of the Month!

Out of the 6 tattoos I designed in the last 2 months 2 have been inked. My stellar friend and client Michael got the tattoo we designed last week.

I must give props to George Wang of Waukesha Tattoo for not only having one killer tattoo parlor (designed by the fantastic Flux) but also for executing the tattoo with style- spot on brother!

We had our SomaFlux show there and it was very happy!

The folks at Waukesha Tattoo and Galleria Edge are great- fun AND professional.

Mural moving ahead

Thanks to the Public Art Committee, our mural project is moving ahead. The next step is a presentation in front of Planning Commission, then a final meeting from Bid Board. We do hope to start mid October if weather holds up.

We are very excited about this.

We've also heard Flux Design mentioned on the bike rack project, we do hope they get a shot to design and build all kinds of interesting racks and perhaps a new sign for the city?

(There is a Flux Design portfolio book in our place if anyone is interested, they did the sign for West Allis.)

Pat's Rib Place

Mark and his lovely family joined Rachel and I for a visit to Pat's Rib Place on Sunset. It has changed a lot since my first visit, but that was like a day or two after they first opened. The menu has expanded now and pictures now lines a whole side of the wall.

We were told the pulled pork was out, but I had my eyes on the beef brisket anyway! I was certainly not disappointed and I had more than plenty to eat! I love the hot hot BBQ sauce! The fried string beans was also awesome. I had heard about their monster pulled pork contest and I thought about it for a second, but after this normal size beef brisket sandwich, I think I will announce my retirement from competitive eating now.

Alisha the owner is also a Carroll grad, so I had to introduce myself. It is good to see fellow alum coming back to Waukesha to make a stand.

Hey, Kodiak Kid, guess where you are buying lunch next?

Thank you... I think

Tattoo parlors in Waukesha is kinda okay with this Freeman columnist.

I guess some people still do not understand how integrated the tattoo culture is in Waukesha, and also there were business here, tattoo or other shops, for 20+ years in downtown Waukesha: Plowshare, Little Swiss Clock Shop, Joke Shop, Dave's, Cuddles, Martha Merrell bookstore, American Tattoo, Black Dragon Tattoo, Walgreen, Subway, Waukesha Monument, Sign Shoppe, Mamma Mia (now Mia), Discount Liquor, Hannon's, and that is just what I can remember.

As much as the perception of a downtown that was years ago, you really have to recognize all these business that kept the downtown going through the years. I was here, I saw the business came and gone in these 20 years.

If you put TIME into perspective, the once young 18 years old I tattooed when I started are now 38, and there are a lot of "tattooed people" out there and they are your friends, your neighbors, your kid's teachers, your minister, your nurses, your doctors, your civil servants, maybe even your parents and grandparents.

We like Marines, by the way, we do have a military discount to thank them for their service. We also like carnies and bikers too. :)

Santiago's Chicken revisited

The last time I was there, I ordered a 1/4 chicken platter. I did not have enough chicken. Tonight I decided to try them again.

I ordered 1/2 chicken platter this time. Gone were the roasted jalapeno and lettuce, it now comes with big portions of rice, bean and slaw. I had plenty of chicken this time and I actually had to take some home.

The owner/chef was the only one speaking English so he came out to take order from me once again. I think he was glad to see me returning.

My next place to revisit is Pat's Rib Place. I was there when they just opened, I did not have enough to eat last time. Every new business adjust and I am eager to see how they did.

New Gallery?

The vacant building on the end of west Main had been seen with lots of activities, now paintings are displayed inside.

Small signs on the windows said RIVERSIDE GALLERY.

That is all I know, but welcome to the beautiful West End!

Oct 2 is a busy busy day!

Plowshare will be 20 years old that day!

This is from their website:

Plowshare Gifts, the first fair trade store in Wisconsin, is celebrating its 20th year in business on October 2nd. Please join us as we feature the following events:
* Fair Trade coffee tasting including our new line from
Just Coffee
* A ribbon cutting at 4 pm with former Waukesha mayor Larry Nelson
* Live mannequins modeling our Fair Trade clothing including our new plus sizes
* Free "goody bag" giveaways to the first 100 customers who spend $10 or more in the store that day.

Wow, they opened when I just started to learn the tattoo trade under Bill.

I too support JDRF!

She is amazing

I too was thinking there is someone else singing this.

Call off the dogs!

The sad thing about modern politics in America is these attack groups trying to create public opinion favorable to the cause of someone higher. That is now happening both parties, national, state wide and local. The even worse thing is that people buy into it, instead of demanding the merit of one they are supporting but just attack ANYONE dare to be in opposition.

I lose respect for someone when I see these attacks, because if one does not call off the dogs, every attack is a bad reflection on one and one day the voters will hold this person responsible for all the negativity or just tune one out.

Call it karma or in a Skinnerian term, all the negativity will just create a downward spiral, is this what we want?

J Lotti Pub opens

Formerly Red Stone Pub and Grill is now open as J Lotti Pub with new owners John and Tiffany. I decided to do some investigative reporting myself.

A lot of important people were there when I walked in. Karen from BID, Aimee from Visitors Bureau, and two ladies from Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce (sorry about names), Eric from Sign Shoppe, Alderman Patton, Leticia my neighbor/ American Family insurance agent. That was all the people I recognize, I am sure I missed a few. It is good that the community shows tons of support for this new business.

I was told the full dinner menu will be served by October 2nd, the coming Art Crawl. I notified John that it will also be Carroll U. Homecoming. I did have an appetizer and a Fat Tire. I tried the bacon wrapped water chestnut. Good stuff! It is served with French fries as well. Aimee said the wine is pretty good, I just have to try that the next time, I do need to walk back to the shop standing straight.... yes, I am a light weight. Alderman Patton said the eggplant is good, he ordered it after seeing Aimee's order. I am a bacon guy, so I will have to take their words for it.

Karen and I did discussed Diva Day, I told her about the challenge to get big names to participate. I still hope Wiggy will do it and perhaps Mayor Scrima. Come on, a pink rat tail and a pinky pinkie? Karen suggested the County exec and the two Governor candidates. Hey, VIPs, it is a great photo op to show your support for your diva voters! I hope the ladies at Moxie is ready for this! 10.10.10 will only happen once in our lifetime...

Diva Day 10.10.10 detail!

Check this out!

We have a "Maybe" from Wiggy for doing the pink hair extension and pink nails from Moxie, we just need the mayor to jump in as well! This will be the way to show support to da ladies!!!

Yes, they are not permanent! Plus we can all discover our inner diva! :) I think my inner diva is Betty White.

Picture this!

Man, I was so wrong on my guess last week!!! I better know this one, especially half of the logo is showing!

Last few days of A-List Voting

Our friends at Waukesha County Museum has a nice page set up for easy voting!

The next show

Here's the press release:

Steven Puetzer and Tricia Shay are having a “Husband vs. Wife” photography show during the month of October at Galleria Edge (inside the hip and inviting new space at Waukesha Tattoo). While each runs their own successful photography business, they also team up on the occasional project. This gallery show showcases their unique perspectives: his, more conceptual, features digital manipulation that stimulates conversation; hers, more architectural and textural, sheds new light on familiar Milwaukee landmarks.

Steven is a well-known stock and assignment photographer who sells images worldwide for clients such as Chevy Hybrid, Bayer, Microsoft, Apple, Hallmark, Time and Newsweek. Tricia is best known for her architectural and interior photography, mainly working with clients in the Midwest. She has also photographed for several magazines including Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion, Atomic Ranch, Chicago Home & Garden, and Milwaukee Magazine.

The opening reception for the show is Saturday, October 2 from 7-10 pm and is part of Waukesha’s Fall Art Crawl.

SomaFlux runs through this Saturday! See it before you miss it!

Live Clue Advanture coming!

We will have three characters in Waukesha Tattoo, okay, beyond the three we have already... Mistress Tani Tat, Madam Maroon, and Coal Botolovenco.

10-23 1-5 pm in downtown Waukesha, and we will allow well behaved kids in...

I've lost my dancing shoes years ago...

but you can polka for charity!

Nov. 14th 3-9pm Sunday, a Packers' bye week. Dinner, free beer and soda, and Casino Night!

I am pretty good at winning fake money.

If a Pink Mustang is not for you...

Here is what United Way is giving away!

or the Pink Mustang for Relay for Life.

I will enter both so I can catch up with Tom's auto collection. Did you know when Waukesha State Bank gave away a Camero years ago, my frat brother Jamie won it? (you do have to pay the tax on it...)

I'll drive a pink Mustang, I am not that way...

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

How about this for Diva Day?

There is a chance that a new 2009 Warrior in Pink Mustang will be in display on Waukesha Diva Day 10.10.10. AND it's being raffled off for Relay for Life!

Stay tuned!

By the way, I will be doing pink ribbon tattoos by appointment that day, and I will donate everything for breast cancer research! Shay Armstrong will be doing pink ribbon face painting in Waukesha Tattoo as well. Moxie is doing pink hair extension and pink nails for charity... I was asked if I will be the first one getting the treatment. I am suggesting here that they need a big celebrity to have maximum media impact, perhaps Wiggy will do that for them. (...or the Mayor?)

Speaking of Mayor Scrima, at today's meeting I saw him joking with Alderman Skinner, I think with yesterday's compromise on Water Commission, the tension at City Hall is easing. That is good for Waukesha and kudos to everyone. keep it up!

Sammie update

Our black cat Sammie still has a bad ear infection issue. We think he is deaf from it and no, it is not like he is ignoring us like most of the cats.

We went to the emergency vet on TT where they saved him when he was rushed in few months ago. My customer Jessica was working today. I talked to Dr. Evan and we went over all the options. I guess likely Sammie might be deaf for life, not what we want to hear but that is just the way it is.

Now we just have to make sure the infection is all gone and hope he will regain his hearing over time. We love him anyway, we already have a Siamese who is allergic to cat food, a greyhound with one less toe, a shy whippet who is afraid of a lot of things, he fits right in with our little motley crew. :)

Planning commission meeting

Tonight the tattoo parlor question was being discussed again by the planning commission. To my surprise, I was the only shop owner there. Another surprise was the planners' recommendation to open tattoo zoning to B-2 and B-3 instead of only B-2.

I felt like I was in a spot which I do have to look after the interest of the local tattooing industry and the wishes of one of other shop owners. It was Scott from American Tattoo who assisted former alderman Vitale to explore the idea of limiting tattoo shops at the previous meeting. Scott did have some valid point that if the zoning is opened to lower rent area, we might have more transient shops coming and going, and if the quality of the work is not there, it hurts EVERYONE's reputation as a Waukesha tattoo artist and people's perception of the industry.

I did not want to sound like I am for limiting so someone can accuse me of that with a " $400 (,000) shop " so I just keep asking the commission to keep the standard high. I think the current zoning is doing its job and in the end the commission agreed with a 4-1 vote.

Kerry from Streaming Cup was there and he said some nice words in support of the tattoo industry in Waukesha and for us. I like to thank him for that.

By the way, I don't like being on TV, it adds 20 pounds... ( or is it all the Magellan's pizza I ate...)

Fellow blogger Brien gained a new angel today. I will whisper in Angel Sadie's ear to find Sir Fido and ensure a safe crossing.

LAST WEEK TO VOTE!

Vote Waukesha, and vote for us and Robin!

Thank you!!!

A bad idea

The wind had blown the cover of one of the spot lights on the sign loose, and it needs to be tighten into the right position. The problem is that we have no ladder tall enough to reach, so I decided to climb on to the roof.

Rich's voice echoed in my head about something regarding not letting gravity win again, I was at the roof's edge and the light was about a foot too far from my reach. The rubber roof was wet from the rain so the warning light came on in my head about slipping and just flying right off the roof...

Yeah, a pretty stupid idea but I did graduate from Al Bundy School of Home Improvement.

Sort of a meeting

Went to the Public Art meeting tonight, Mayor Scrima saw me and we talked for a while. The newly painted City Hall does look a lot brighter and I do like it after seeing it in person. He did give me some advice on what to do with Main Street politics, and I think I will follow it. ( No, I wimped out on asking him to call Ke$ha back for a beer date for Waukesha's sake. )

Fellow Waukesha bloggers Ronsta and Sonia were there as well to talk about the Bike Rack Project, so was the real professional reporter Sarah from the Freeman. The meeting could not start because they were one member short.

In the mean time I had some good conversation with Alderman Patton and met Alderwoman Cummings.

The meeting that never started was called off an hour later. We'll try again next week.

An exercise in Zen

Bill and I used to do target archery, and we would compete with each other with the loser buying lunch. I had not done so since he passed away. Yesterday was a good day to get the dust off the bow and also a chance to check out the new place by Shugar's brothers.

I am definitely a little out of shape, my arms were tired after about 140 arrows shot. I was all over the place with my groupings. Perhaps I will need to practice more to get back into that Zen state.

What would Bill think of the place? I know he would be sitting in the bar watching the Packers instead of shooting arrows with several kids around... I did not mind however, that was how I started doing archery in Taiwan. Watching fathers teaching their sons, it reminds me how I really treasure the relationship I had with Bill, part mentor, part friends, and I think he enjoyed that too.

This week's Picture This!

It is not a guy with hair all raised... :) Something precious and something small... That is my guess.

Honor Flight

The honor flight for local veterans was returning on Sunday Night at 9pm, Rachel and I decided we need to be there. When we arrived at the airport terminal, the place was packed already. We were handed flags and there were a band playing.

The flight returning from Washington D.C. was delayed however, but it did not dampen the crowd's spirit. Some passengers from other flights were even cheered as they were surprised coming around the corner, well, all except one guy wearing a Devin Hester jersey was booed, even though Hester did have a sensational touchdown catch for Da Bears.

At around 11pm, the veterans along with their guardians started to come out, and they were given a hero's welcome. Some were so surprised by the whole terminal full of welcoming party and the cheer, it was a very moving experience.

From their insignia, you can tell what they were doing in WWII, Korean and/or Vietnam war. I even saw one older gentleman with the patch showing that he served in China, likely the Flying Tigers, which was the shirt I was wearing. Yes, the history I read in books and watched in films, these guys made the history.

There were also B-17 bomber crews, which is unthinkable now that every time a B-17 went down over Europe, that was 10 guys in them and there were a lot of B-17 lost in WWII.

I am also glad to see Vietnam vets and Korean vets were there to get a hero's welcome. It might be a little overdue, but I hope they know they are appreciated.

I imagine Bill being there, other than he was not a fan of Charlie Sykes. One of the last things he did was taking a ride to see D.C., perhaps he knew his time was limited. Rachel and I were glad to honor him by being there. When we left the airport, it was about the time he passed two years ago. We think he was there in spirit for the welcome, the welcome he did not get coming home from Nam.

Good column in Freeman

Pete Kennedy wrote a good one.

I agree with the Ke$ha thing completely!

By the way, the tattoo shop limitation is back on the agenda for Planning Commission, the issue was raised by a former Alderman with another tattoo shop owner. Once more, just in case I get accused again publicly, our position is that we welcome competition but we want to make sure the bar is set high, we think the planning commission is doing that already.

A good one from KB

What the Hell!: Let the Mudslinging Begin: "The fight card has been finalized. Walker vs. Barrett for Governor. Feingold vs. Johnson for Senator. Both bouts on the card are anticipated..."

Kudos to Super Scrima

Did you see the photo of Mayor Scrima striking a Superman's pose for United Way's Flash Mob event on the front page of Freeman few days ago?

I just want to say the positive publicity is what he needs and we need more of it.

So what if Waukesha has a Weak Mayor/Strong Council system, do the best you can, make lemonade out of lemon, play the hands you get, be known as a engaging mayor to the community in a positive way.

People are tired of reading negative attacks on the council on Sound Off. Be the Super Scrima, and rise above all the dumb high school-ish stuff. One thing former Mayor Nelson did right was all the photo ops on ribbon cuttings, and he was at a lot of community meeting and he was accessible. Be the glue that holds things together, rather than be the force that tears things apart.

You can do it.

New shows at Carroll

There are two new shows in display at the Carroll University Art Building. One is the Art Alumni show, Steven Puetzer and Michael Foster are showing, so is John Allison of Allison Art House. I am not in the show due to extreme laziness, but one of my old paintings is on the second floor if you are interested... Overall, a very interesting collection and I really should ask Carroll to relocate this to Galleria Edge in the future for a Main Street exposure.

The other show is by Professor Amy Cropper, very spiritual stuff. It reminds me of the Rothko Chapel or the Rothko room in National Gallery but more in a Malevich way regarding the black square. I think one needs to sit in there for a while to soak up the energy.

The opening is Oct 2nd, I do hope I can slip away from work to attend.

The Waukesha Zombie Walk

The planning is taking shape! We will be the drop off point for donations to Food Pantry and HAWS. We might even have F/X face painting available on site!

There are certainly more parking on the West End and there are parking across the river as well.

Did you RSVP yet?

P.S. It is also the Trick or Treat Day at downtown Waukesha, I am sure it will be a Halloween some kids will never forget! :) We do need to find some candy for the shop...

I was flashed!

Did you see the Flash Mob in downtown Waukesha today around noon?

You can still enter the United Way raffle to win the new car!!!

Honor Flight

If you like to welcome 200 veterans after their honor flight to Washington D.C., the welcome home ceremony is 9pm this Sunday at Mitchell International Airport, Concourse E. (Info provided by Ronnie.)

Two meetings

I went to the BID committee to present the mural idea, I think it is well received, it will go to the BID board next for the allocation of the funding.

The Public Art committee of the city will be next.

The Waukesha Downtown Merchant Association meeting is at Magellan's. Dan actually provided his famous yummy pizza, that was the highlight of my evening!

The rest...
I just want to be a good business owner and a good neighbor. I only like to point out my fellow business owners and neighbors' good deeds. I can't solve the conflicts nor I encourage more conflict. Bottom line.

Easy Day

The weather was perfect today, but no golfing.I told Doug that it saved me some aggravation for not able to be out there. I just sit out by the bench in front of the shop and enjoyed.

Flux made good progress but did re-pour one counter, it means another day of waiting but we should have no problem working tomorrow.Doug also finished the awning, I think it really changed how the building feel. We just have three more projects left, send money please!

Steve came and show me his artwork for the next show, I really like this new style of print. I think viewers will really enjoy that. Magellan's pizza was the lunch option for everyone, once again, people love the dining options of downtown Waukesha!

Tomorrow is the Waukesha BID committee meeting for me to present the mural, I do think it will be a draw for the West End gateway for Main Street and it will be the beginning of a beautiful thing...

Mark your calender

Do you like our furniture at the galleria? That is Flux Design. Make sure you go and check them out! Jeremy the owner and Liz the operation manager will be there!

Sunday observation

Da Bears looked bad still, they were very lucky to win on that controversial end zone play.

The Packers should be better than they looked last night, that offensive line still is a question mark.

Thank goodness the Brewers won at least one against the hated Cubs.

Dogs and cancer

I did not have a chance to have in-depth conversation with whom needed my support, so here is where I will do so.

As some of you know that we gained an angel in Sadie via Bone Cancer, we did what we can and in the end, after all the vet bills, no amount of money can change the fact the aggressive cancer was eating her alive.

Every one's situation is different and every dog is different. There is no right or wrong decisions on what to do, to treat or not treat, because it is a complex issue with in a family. We were lucky that we can afford to give the treatment a shot and it did not work, but not everyone can do that because it is a small fortune when it comes to cancer treatment for dogs.

I am just here to support you, my friend. You know your dog the best and you will make the right decision for your family.

Sunday, September 12, 2010

No off day

The shop will still be closed tomorrow to finish the new counter coating. The crew from Flux worked very hard but not able to finish everything.

I'll be there tomorrow at 9:30 am, it means no golfing for me... :( Maybe Kodiak Kid will buy me lunch at Casa, or is it my turn to buy?!

Did not do much tattooing today but plenty of other stuff. Barry, Lynda and I cleaned out the back room today to prepare for this busy weekend.

We also have some designing ideas for the mural, I submitted today to BID in advance of the meeting. I think we have something really interesting, and I hope we can get this project going.

I went to Moxie in the afternoon for some hair treatment. The dye job and the comb over were pretty good. Holly did a great job hiding my bald spot... and it did not involve spray paint!

Doug was almost done with our latest remodeling outside, the cedar is now replaced with copper color steel. Check it out!

In the evening was the Waukesha County Museum event. Chicago Ed did show up to my delight. There were a lot of familiar faces in the crowd, and we are very happy to contributed to this culture event.

The late dinner was also a nice surprise. We revisited Clarke Hotel's chop house and pasta, and they have improved the fish fry and now have potato pancakes! The breading is no longer crackers but bread crumbs and soon with some potato chips. The tarter sauce is the meal maker, check it out! I ordered a pasta dish I can not pronounce and I LOVE IT! I am very happy to see a full dining room, and now an excellent place to dine with many options! They do have quality service as well, the turn around is definitely working and I am really impressed.

Another full day tomorrow, it is Art Fest, and do come by later for SomaFlux reception at 7 pm!

Painters wanted

According to Wiggy, there will be some painting going on this Saturday.

There will be plenty of artists in downtown Waukesha because it will be the Waukesha Art Fest. FYI.

See paintings or do the painting, that is the question.

Flash Mob

Be Part of Our LIVE UNITED Flash Mob!

Join us as we kickoff the 2010 campaign and celebrate LIVING UNITED.

You may be wondering, "What is a flash mob?" For those that haven't heard the term before, a flash mob takes place when a group of people meet to perform some predetermined task at a particular place and time. To see an example of a flash mob, click here.

The LIVE UNITED flash mob is a great way for you and your co-workers to kickoff your organization's 2010 United Way in Waukesha County campaign. Feel free to invite friends or family members as well.

Here are five reasons to attend:

-Have fun!

-Participate in a great team activity

-Start the buzz for our community's campaign

-Get out of the office

-Be part of something BIG - a lunch break you'll
never forget.

UWWC's flash mob event will take place on Wednesday, September 15 from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in downtown Waukesha. The first 500 participants to sign up will receive a FREE black LIVE UNITED t-shirt.

Once we assemble, we'll disbuse to assigned locations on Main Street in downtown Waukesha. At noon, we plan to "flash" our LIVE UNITED t-shirt hidden under our jacket or alternative shirt covering and strike a pose for a few minutes until our "WIN ME" Ford Fiesta car rolls down the street.

Click here for additional event details (including parking accommodations) or contact Courtney Capes at United Way at (262) 547-8459 ext. 114.

Here is the original text.

Dearest one,

Hi,My name is joy Justin Yak, 23years old originated from Sudan. I decide to contact you after my prayers, I really want to have a good relationship with you. My father Dr. Justin Yak was the former Minister for SPLA Affairs and Special Adviser to President Salva Kiir of South Sudan for Decentralization. My father Dr.Justin Yak and my mother including other top Military officers and top government officials had been on board when the plane crashed on Friday May 02, 2008.
You can read more about the crash through the below site:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7380412.stm

After the burial of my father, my uncle conspired and sold my father's properties to a Chinease Expatriate and live nothing for me. On a faithful morning, I opened my father's briefcase and found out the documents which he have deposited huge amount of money in one bank in Burkina Faso with my name as the next of kin. I traveled to Burkina Faso to withdraw the money so that I can start a better life and take care of myself. On my arrival, the Branch manager of the Bank whom I met in person told me that my father's instruction to the bank was the money be release to me only when I am married or present a trustee who will help me and invest the money overseas.

I have chosen to contact you after my prayers and I believe that you will not betray my trust. But rather take me as your own sister. Though you may wonder why I am so soon revealing myself to you without knowing you, well, I will say that my mind convinced me that you are the true person to help me. More so, I will like to disclose much to you if you can help me to relocate to your country because my uncle have threaten to assassinate me. The amount is $5.6 Million and I have confirmed from the bank in Burkina Faso. You will also help me to place the money in a more profitable business venture in your Country.

However, you will help by recommending a nice University in your country so that I can complete my studies. It is my intention to compensate you with 10% of the total money for your services and the balance shall be my capital in your establishment. As soon as I receive your interest in helping me, I will put things into action immediately. In the light of the above, I shall appreciate an urgent message indicating your ability and willingness to handle this transaction sincerely. Please do keep this only to your self. I beg you not to disclose it till i come over because I am affraid of my wicked uncle who has threatened to kill me.

Sincerely yours,
Joy Justin Yak
