For my Waukesha Bike Gang friends....

6.30.11

Sad situation and Wiggy has a thought... I can't say I totally agree with... I had known some sweetest pit bulls... It does take the right owner and training. However, it is the reputation that generates fear and you can not show your fear around a pup, they will feed on it.

Mayor Scrima is going on with his "Negotiation" tactic. The town too.

That fun looking Roadster was at the West End!

FFNL preview.

I went to Bodway last night with M.H. on his request and to avoid THE rabid Yankee fan of downtown Waukesha, the other Chef Tony made us burgers... I do think they have the best burger in Waukesha now but it had been so long since a Valley Burger.... Fellow blogger Curt Otto was there too enjoying a burger...

I did hear some other rumor regarding the former Katydid's space and it is not a pizza place.

Wait, there is another text from THE rabid Yankee fan... :(

Disturbed...

Mike from Disturbed signed the rooster!

Breaking News!

From Twitter:

Sarah Pryor

6.29.11

A lose-lose situation... :(

Time to pay the bill...

Let's make a deal, if the price is right... The County gave it a go.

Balls of Fury...

Darryl and his guns... I have found someone to construct the machine gun nest on top of the building...You know these bar closing firefights on West Main can really get out of hand...

Ronsta and the gang was at D Mo's last night and they were talking about these with Chef Tony... I did not know there were such thing... Chef Nate made me a "Clam Shell on a Plate" special with assortment of seafood and bacon on a bed of risotto...

6.28.11

It is not just WackySha now, it is WackyConsin...

New home for a good organization.

Contracts ending for teachers...

Mayor Scrima showed up! Two week notice thing is catching on. Lynda represented us and congrats to our fellow West End neighbor!

Okay, I am not hungry anymore...

Get your Christmas list started...

Let me leave you with these images to start your vigorous day...

Tazino's coming?

Someone from Tazino's Pizza was taking photos of former Katydid's building... Does it mean Magellan's is getting some competition?

I wonder if they are courted by Berg Management to be at the new Carroll hall as well?

An open question

Chef Tony asked me what else can he put out there for kids, (he is bring out a cotton candy machine next FFNL...) any suggestion out there? I have asked for other quick food for Eat BTW.

6.25.11

How about we talk about a nice mural instead...

Ms. Kool almost ran into/over Mayor Scrima (jaywalking) on White Rock...He was running late for this.

Must be because of this, he is a busy busy guy!

History Lesson 5 of 10

The other Chef Tony of Waukesha sure makes a good burger... By the way, I think the ribbon cutting for Spontaneous Gallery is today...1:30pm? I hope they gave Mayor Scrima the two weeks notice to be there.

SOUND OFF- Recall Mayor Scrima? Is he predictable or unpredictable? I think he would say things he did not mean to say sometimes, he was IN THE MOMENT...

Wiggy, how about a realistic 3D mural of one of these coming out of fire on my east wall, I've heard you are a big fan!

I just hope it will not be declared "obscene" by the power players...

By the way, speaking of "obscene", a big thanks to Mr. Nipple Gate for bring us a gift... it is a gift of "nipple" art that we will proudly display... come check it out! ( We might have to ask for street closure because of all the potential protesters...)

Crazy weather

I'm telling you, someone is really thinking the fall is here and the winter is coming next... We had our summer already.

Friday, June 24, 2011

Welcome back!

Fellow blogger and neighborhood favorite Curt Otto is back in town. However if this weather is turning wintery next week, he is going back to Cali... ( We are in the fall already, right?)

FFNL @ D Mo's

P.S. Man on the street said there is a heavy police presence at Magellan's tonight at FFNL... one of the band members is a cop, and many of his buddies are in the crowd... There will be no trouble tonight or noise violation...

Body piercing by Kelly

Local favorite Kelly is now at Waukesha Tattoo Company! Come and say hi!

I missed this

There is a comedy fundraiser tonight benefiting the tornado victims in the South... We know it touched our very own Southern Belle HBR a lot...

YAHOO

Because of this, all the smart money is watching the YHOO ticker to see if the association with Wiggy will help or hurt the stock... The day is not over yet...

Update:

YHOO ended the date down 19 cents. It was spiking early when the market saw the possible association of Yahoo and Wiggy, but at 10:22 am Yahoo came out and announced it is not true, it sent the shares in a mini free fall and it never did recover through out the day....

6.24.11

Slow news day... but I have heard rumors that angry Scrima hardcore supporters are going after Freeman with emails, I guess they somehow "spinned" the vigorous leader's DIRECT quote, how do you do that anyway. ( Now they know how all the aldermen feel...) A grass root opposition is rumored to be formed at the West End for the new O'Brien's apartment project pushed by some power players in Waukesha. I do agree that it will kill the charm of the West End, and I hope the city is mindful of that and all the rules they are asked to bend. I also wonder what will happen when Mill Reserve condo project does not meet the TIF contract term next year of reaching certain property value? ( I had asked Mayor Scrima that but he was not aware of it. )

SOUND OFF- they sure are going after Wiggy.

Thumbs down from a Waukesha golfer/artist...

The big police action yesterday.

History Lesson 4 of 10

I missed this nice review of D Mo's Pita and Pan, sorry... that Erik sure has a nice looking website!

Fiesta Waukesha starts and FFNL is tonight... No rain...wear a coat!

Thursday, June 23, 2011

Here is a color version, Eat.

Lifted from Waukesha Patch...

Now compare to something great found on the net. There is a lot of "Middle Ground" between the two. Shouldn't Waukesha strive to be better and be great? When people drive down Main St., shouldn't they be awed or say their kids can draw that instead....

What is the point of having a powerless Public Art Committee again?

Chef Josie is coming!

Chef Tony said SEPTEMBER! Chef Josie from Top Chef is gonna host many events at D Mo's and D Mo's Pita and Pan, she will even take over the kitchen for a week here and there...

Is downtown Waukesha ready for her?

Diet FAIL

Thanks to Feng's.

How WackySha had aged me...

6.23.11

Hey, Wiggy, you do not need to wait until Friday. It is here! ( TOLD YOU SO! )

We are CORNERED!

Our local heroine!

Now it is a montage and a done deal? It is not just poor design, it is NO design. Once again, it is out of my hands. The drift I got was that Couri's support FFNL and Street Closing, so the art community will just take one for the team. It does not mean I have to like it...

( I am also glad I did not buy the luxury condo unit with the view of the mural...but that is just me, someone might find the folk style, outsider art-esque "montage" charming. )

History Lesson 3 of 10.

The Town wants to have a heart to heart.

SOUND OFF-Here comes the noise police.

West End rumor

Rumor has it that the O'Brien building will be a five story "High End" apartment building with parking on the first floor. They will need the city to bend quite a few rules to have that happen since the first floor should be retail and there are rules regarding the shoreline and the sidewalk but with parking it gets around the flood zone issue.

The truth is that we are not too excited about losing the sight of the green space in front of us, but what can we say, it will be the Mill Reserve project of this side of river. It will be a very quiet West End. ;)

6.22.11

All the sound bites and conspiracy theories did not help Mayor Scrima last night, it is not 3, it is 3+ whoever is needed. He also provided another sound bite that he is now supporting the Great Lakes Application, but I predict a "clarification" will come out late Friday though an email since his 180 degree turn did not get him anywhere. ( Brien, Alderman Andy Reiland was on vacation, he left a letter to be read. )

The heated public comments will also get some attention. WCBA also responded to Mayor Scrima last night after his recent not-so-smart remark, rumor has it that he showed up for only one meeting for their water policy committee. I was glad to see someone did ask the hard question of WHERE IS THE BEEF? to Mayor Scrima on all the alternative water options but that is no longer an issue since his recent change of heart. This might be up there as Bush Sr.'s Read my lips, no new taxes to his hardcore supporters. People on Twitter had started calling him FLIP FLOPPER.

It will be a crazy Friday along with FFNL if weather holds up. There is music tonight too.

History Lesson 2 of 10

Please turn in your guns at the door.

I was asked last night if I am interested at being on the Public Art Committee, I gave a quick NO answer. The problem was that the question was posted to me AFTER two frustrated former artist members just done telling me how there is no teeth on enforcing or even ADVISING anything. If we do not want plan commission to make decision on public art, but we are comfortable with insurance agents or whoever has money making it? It sounds harsh but it is the truth. We had to deal with the frustration with "Scratchers" in our business, the people who think they can tattoo and messing people up on their kitchen table...

Another artist suggested I close my eyes when I drive past Couri insurance in the future, that will be dangerous for Otto's students...

(sorry if I sound grumpy, I am not, really. It is what it is. )

Perspective

This is a one point perspective.

This is a two point perspective.

Please pick one. ( I mean PLEASE in the nicest way. )

6.21.11

Are you ready for a showdown or a smack down? How about a poll?

My fear has been confirmed... Public Art wants to pass the buck to avoid any confrontation... and it will not be good for the whole Art City thing if they do not establish any kind of standard. This poorly designed mural is making me sick to my stomach for being a part of the West End Tree Project.

History Lesson 1 of 10

POOP burger? Recycling is all good but I'll pass.

UPDATE: I was being told tonight that the design was shown to Public Art as the final and no advice was asked, that would make sense with Jeff's comment. They did not pass the buck, they were not really asked to be in the decision process. There is still a question if BID money is involved or not.

Body Piercing @ WTC

Starting tomorrow, we will have a new team member Kelly. She is a familiar face in downtown Waukesha. We are thrilled to have her.

Her hours will be Tue-Thur 11:30am-7pm, Fri 11:30am-9pm, Sat 11:30am-7pm. Appointment is recommended.

Saturday, June 18, 2011

Whose flag is it

We thought it was an Aussie flag but we were wrong...

6.18.11

Today is the Mayor Scrima's vigorous edition.

Mayor Scrima knows something WCBA does not?

Taylors thank Mayor Scrima.

Common Council will talk about the veto by Mayor Scrima.

Team Scrima formed a citizen group against Team Luther.

She did not ask for the police chief to be on the team... are we sure she is not Mayor Scrima's Mystery Blonde?

Mayor Scrima, WHERE IS THE BEEF?

I shake my head, WackySha it is.

Friday, June 17, 2011

I am a little early for FFNL

Oh, well, it is the only time slot I have for lunch. I guess this is one way to beat the crowd at Magellan's.

The weather is perfect, a lot of fun activities at downtown Waukesha planned... Come out and join us!

6.17.11

I thought former Mayor Nelson was hinting this during election already...

Get ready for the race!

Sounds like a veto override is coming.

Oh, boy... bite size cheesecakes...

SOUND OFF-one side sure sounds a little more reasonable...

I was at the taste testing and checking in on Four Square... I noticed that there is a " Strip Club " on 325 W. Main.... So you know.

FFNL is tonight. I want some roasted corn from D Mo's!

Thursday, June 16, 2011

Behind the scene stuff

Chef Nate at D Mo's is making some creme brulee for a special party...

How I wish that is on the menu...( hint...)

Here is the new twist on the gnocchi... Gnocchi Pomodoro. We attacked it before I remember to take a picture. D Mo's has the best gnocchi in all three versions I had so far!

Next is the Proscuitto Risotto. What can I say, the taste and the texture is awesome...Someone pinch me, I am eating this in downtown Waukesha!

(Another inside info is that Chef Josie from Top Chef season 2 might be a guest chef in the near future... She is a good friend of Chef Tony and he wants to bring celebrity chef in once a while...)

The last dish is the mozzarella salad, it is a very refreshing dish in a summer night... You just have to try it sometime...

Okay, back to eating...

D Mo's for FFNL

I was told that Chef Tony has some pretty neat things planned for kids tomorrow night. Corn roast, face painting and jumping castle/bounce house.

There are some new items on the menu for adults too. I will be trying out some new dishes tonight... perhaps pasta with a creamy bacon sauce or chicken with a lemon raisin sauce?

I will see about live blogging later...

6.16.11

Somehow I forgot to link Darryl's column yesterday...

The road block to plan B.

...but the Mayor has started to dig for more wells anyway...

Yup, I am in that age range too...

FFNL lineup.

Wiggy is against zombies...

SOUND OFF-Thank you, former Alderman Furrer.

POLICE BLOTTER- the first one had me scratch my head...

I just lost my appetite...

Yup, it is that kind of a morning...

I am all about #3 and #4

Have a nice day, everyone!

June Tale of Inspiration:

As always- Sunshine, Fresh Air, & Someone to Watch My Kids..... always leads to exuberant & spontaneous creativity.

Having recently returned from my Dad's Ranch I have a new mother load of bones, metal, energy, and ideas. While I'm lucky enough get to create art from the treasure trove the west has to offer it was marvelous to witness what my Dad and his wife, Patricia, create that is fundamentally practical- organic, happy, free-range food. Its not often I can be useful to them but I want to share the new and improved VegMobile with you. It's far more fashionable than it was before and still as functional! I'm looking forward the outcome of what all these collected ingredients will sum up to. Stay Stay Tuned ;)
