Good weather helped.

So this is what happened in my neighborhood...

I was too busy to get my sub, but Kelly had Vietnamese food brought in from some tiny place in Milwaukee, the pho and spring rolls were awesome! ( BTW, no body piercing until next Monday at WTC, Kelly will be on vacation this weekend.)

Downtown Dog Park info

Why a Central City Dog Walk?

· A designated central city dog walking area where dog owners and their pets can take relaxing walks together on-leash is a tremendous community enhancement.

· Dogs create a sense of community. People are brought together on a dog walk and conversations begin.

· Dogs, by their nature, help deter crime. Central City Neighborhoods will grow stronger and safer as those people walking their dogs become the eyes and ears of the community.

· The dogs and their owners will have a safe environment to walk

· A well-exercised dog is a happier and healthier dog.

Key features of proposed Central City Dog Walk include:

(1) Entry point available at several locations

(2) Shade & water (doggie water fountain)

(3) Adequate drainage

(4) Grass area with routine maintenance;

(5) Bag stations and on-leash signage

(6) Benches

(7) Wheelchair accessible

(8) Safe location - not isolated.

Dog Walk Restrictions:

· Dogs will be restricted to paved pathways in Bethesda Park and are not allowed in the playground area and/or hard surface tennis court area.

· All dogs will be on a 6’ leash at all times and held by a person of sufficient size and strength to restrain the dog if needed.

· Owners must always clean up after their dogs. Containers with bags will be provided.

· Aggressive dogs (or people) should not enter the dog walk.

· Dogs will only be allowed in Bethesda Park during regular park hours.

· Dogs must wear a collar with identification at all times, be licensed and vaccinated, healthy (have no contagious conditions or diseases), and be parasite free.

· The number of dogs per person is limited to three.

· Dogs shall not chase or disturb wildlife.

Hello Central City Neighbors

We have some exciting news for you about the possible initiation of a Central City Dog Walk in and near the downtown. It could be close to your neighborhood so we wanted to be sure you were informed.

The City of Waukesha has had great success and many accolades related to the Dog Park in Minooka Park that encouraged us to approach the city about the possibility of a dog walk in our central city neighborhoods. The Waukesha Park and Recreation Department has agreed to consider it.

We have enclosed a map that includes the proposed area for the walk as well as placement of signage, fountains and bag holders. We will be proposing some fund raisers as well as it will be necessary to raise approximately $10,000 to fund the fountain and the ongoing need for bags.

We have outlined some of the reasons and requirements for the consideration of the dog walk that will be discussed at an upcoming meeting. We encourage you to contact either of us at your convenience to discuss any questions or concerns that you might have.

Thank you for time

The trip to Sharon, WI was interesting. I drove by the Colonial Inn in Darien, it is closed and for sale. I remember a very nice dinner there years ago and a not so good lunch years later. Dr. Witte came highly recommended and she was the fourth vet we saw for Bitsie the greyhound. Dr. Witte said Bits has a bad toe, a bad hip, a bad neck and bum shoulders... Just like her papa!

Kelly ran into Chef Nate and he told her he is still at Mainstream (formerly Bodway's) and he wanted the WTC crew to come. I did go for the wings and tons of downtown heavies were there. The menu and the food did not change yet. Nate said the burger will stay the same and the infernal hot sauce is still available.

See you all at WFFNL...

The big topic of the downtown was the guitar vandal. I was told it could be a bad weld on the stand and wind but I can also see someone try to "play" the guitar and snap the weld joint with the body weight. At least it is fixable at this incident... Security step up is a must...

Happy 100th for Sarah! Don't forget that Magellan's had knocked down the wall to expand into M2. I also like to thank her for the kind words. Waukesha Tattoo is doing well because of the great team, the great customer base and great community support...

Erik's new post. Ms. Kool brought me a Bubble Tea from Farmers' Market and I hate to say this but the boba was not done correctly. I was really disappointed.

Brien's new entry.

My idea for downtown dog walk

Due to dog duty and shop needs, I will not be able to make the downtown dog walk meeting tomorrow, but I do have some ideas for the group.

Funding will always be a question, therefore I propose for it to be a Memorial Dog Walk. Bricks, benches, doggie stations can be sponsored in memories of doggie angels, and I do have a statue in mind for a square in the park. The red bridge can be re-dedicated as Rainbow Bridge, and perhaps the spring or a water station can be named as the Healing Spring.

HAWS and local breed rescues should be involved and when the annual greyhound gala happens, there should be a walk through downtown the night before. Clarke Hotel is dog friendly BTW.

Just my 2 cents...

7.14.12

With a full team, Friday the 13th went rather smooth. We actually had some slow times during the day but we did 50-60 13s among 4 of us, and last one was around the same amount among 3 of us. Thanks to Sabrina from Moxie and Tammi to add to the event, I had my nail done and tarot cards read... We do not have a total yet but we should have some nice donations to several charities (Camp Odayin, American Diabetes Association and continue to add to fund for cancer research at Waukesha Memorial/Riverwalk for Breast Cancer.)

The WTC crew did the after-party at Gen 5, we were happy to see the return of Emma. She shared all the photos and videos from her month long backpacking trip all over Europe... You should ask her about it... ;) By the way, food, drinks and service were awesome AS USUAL... The fish dish is very tasty...

County Fair is coming...

New biz roundup.

What is up next week...

Super hero for super summer...

Lexi Legacy is Sunday!

Nice and gentle version of this...

A slap on the wrist.

Kendal Lofts update. It creates a problem: now there are two Heidi Miller's in Waukesha talk-about... the other one is from Carroll alumni office.

Expected water rate increase.

Downtown wedding: it might bring the opposite effect for the pro-street closing crowd, JMO.

Wiggy's column. Prediction: Another fan mail at SOUND OFF soon...

Show tunes night...

Next Art Crawl is Les Paul themed, another attempt to keep the Guitar Town momentum going.

Don't forget Lexi Legacy event on Sunday.

Friday the 13th is tomorrow, are you ready for the last 13 tattoo madness for 2012? Sabrina from Moxie will also be doing $20 ( $13 + $7 tip for luck) Manicure special along with Tammy doing the Tarot card reading... We expect a line when we open and it is first come, first serve.

This is close...

Some of these do not apply to Waukesha...

So wrong but I bet it is yummy.

No, I am not posting the poor kitten in concrete and yes, the baby panda passed away... :(

Freeman is hiring... Do you have what it takes?

Happy birthday to M. H.!

WFFNL also has a new website.

Gregg's column. How about Paul's, Benny's, New China City, Bits of Britain, Half Moon (?), Charlene Kay's and there was a high end pasta place at where Gen 5 is in late 80's, an Indian place at Hotel Waukesha, several Mexican places at where J Lotti is now, Lopez bakery at Gen 5. Several places relocated like Jack's Pantry, Chiang Mai Cafe, La Estrella Bakery. Of course, we can not forget the donut holes from Donut Shoppe, Neighbor's African Peanut soup, and the popcorn from PIX.

Wow...

Old villains...

Street closing... Congrats...

Angie and Adam witnessed an aftermath of a car accident at the Far West End. A young gal with a brand new car pull out of parking and hit a car driving by. The poor guy in the older car offered her to settle it without police and insurance, and the gal started to yell about how her car is newer and how she had the right-of-way because that is what her mom said (on the phone)... Entertaining stuff...

Poor Jason is still dealing with the blackbird attack, now he has to add wasp to the enemy list. I am trying to tell him it is that Derek Jeter cologne... Even Mother Nature is not a Yankee fan...

Kate's private art reception for UNDER ATTACK is tonight if you have not sign up yet... See you soon!
